Enter SFIDA our Full Race Spec First 40 for The Silicon Cup the largest sailing regatta for the IT industry. Join hundreds of industry professionals for the thrill of yacht racing in the Solent, network with contacts at action-packed social events and support worthy causes through entertaining fundraising challenges.
Since the first event in 2000 it has grown to include more than 450 competitors and continues to attract more companies that join those that have taken part regularly over the years. The 2017 event will take place on the 27-28th September in Cowes on the Isle of Wight (England).
Don’t miss a unique event that provides a great opportunity to entertain your customers, reward your employees, meet new contacts and give something back. No previous sailing experience is required - enter the National Champion First 40 SFIDA .
As part of the Performance 40 series for 2018 there will be a class start at the Vice Admirals Cup in May.
North Sails, Royal Ocean Racing Club, Warsash Sailing Club, Royal Southern Yacht Club and Hamble River Sailing Club have teamed up to create the ‘Performance 40’ series for 2018 which will consist of seven events with five to count for the Overall Trophies.

(**Vice Admiral’s Cup will not be part of the overall series due to J111’s having a Class Start, however P40’s will have their own Class Start and VAC Trophy!)
A ‘Performance 40 is a Cruiser/Racer around 40ft and will be defined by the below limitations, which utilises information from her IRC Certificate.

For reference a First 40 is at the bottom of the band and an XP44 is at the top of the band. This includes but is not limited to; J111’s, J122’s, J133’s, IMX40’s, Grand Soleil 43’s, Arcona 41’s, JND 39’s, Corby 41’s, Mills 39’s, Matt 12’s, King 40’s, Azuree 46’s etc.

Lutine Lineslip Regatta

Each June, teams from within the Insurance Industry come together to compete in the annual Lutine Lineslip Sailing Regatta.
No sailing experience is necessary. Entry is open to any company operating within the insurance sector.
Lutine Lineslip 2018
Established in 1999, this two day regatta is the most prestigious sailing and social event for the insurance sector – it’s great fun and a brilliant opportunity to network with industry peers, entertain clients raise your company profile – all whilst raising money for a charitable cause. All companies involved in, or suppliers to, the insurance industry are eligible to attend and no previous sailing experience is necessary as PROMOCEAN provide a professional skipper and mate who coach the crews on board throughout the regatta.
2018 will be the 15th year this event will be run
